Planning for the Fire and Ice 2014 event in Qualicum Beach is moving ahead at full speed with the release of an online survey looking for the public's input.
The Fire and Ice Committee is committed to running the event next year, and has developed a consultation process which will seek views of the public, businesses and artists in designing Fire and Ice.
Jim Lynch, Chair of the Fire and Ice Committee, said “we want to keep the Fire and Ice brand, which is so well known and appreciated, but are taking the opportunity to ask for a wide range of thoughts on what the event should look like. “Fire”could mean not only chili, but other “hot” foods or activities, while “ice” could be not only ice carvings but other cool attractions.”
The committee will take the results of the survey and develop a plan for the 2014 event by the end of June. “This is not the end of Fire and Ice”, emphasized Jim Lynch, “but rather a good time to add new ideas and energy to a great event which has brought enjoyment to families for twenty years. We are hoping to get lots of good feedback and suggestions for our organizing committee to consider”
